“Sadie”

Sadie was inspired by our most frequent garden visitor. She’s without question the most mischievous member of the Beastie gang and is a constant torment to our lunatic dog. Always taunting and teasing and escaping with a quick swish of her tail.

When it comes to putting ink to paper, the starting point for me is always the face. Establishing the eyes, gaze and angle of the head gives an instant feel of the character.

I try capture the personality of each beastie which is why I give them all a name. Yes I know it sounds mad but it makes them more real and brings them to life in my mind and hopefully that comes across in the artworks.

Sadie is a bit of a limited edition ;) She’s only available as a card, print, coaster and fine bone china mug but if you think she’d look great on something else do drop me a line, I’m always up for suggestions.
